Sophia talks about her "radical lifestyle" [p.77-93] and pursuing a life she was not always proud of.
1. How do Sophia's past experiences shape her? Be specific and give examples from the text.
2. How do past experiences shape who we are?
3. If you could ask Sophia one question what would it be?
1) Sophia's past experiences shape her by stopping the bad stuff she used to do in her past. For example , " Seattle is the place where I used to spend almost as much time cutting my own hair, as I did shoplifting back in 2002 " (Pg. 84). Shoplifting was going to get Sophia Amoruso absolutely nowhere in life to the point she won't have a good life.
ReplyDelete2) Past experiences shape the person we want to become by changing our ways before things get way out of hand such as shoplifting or gang activity which will make us become the person we won' t want to be such as a bum on the street or drug addict, etc.
3) Do you regret shoplifting in Seattle back and 2002 and do you promise to never shoplift as well as be around the wrong people who were never your true friends ?

DeleteSophia's past experiences shaped her into the successful woman she was trying to be at the age of 18. Sophia shopped lifted for things to sell so she can have some money on her. To me , that was pretty smart but don't do that! Amoruso explained that shoplifting was getting her nowhere but trouble which could've eventually ruined her career or she'll possibly never have one with the route she was following.
ReplyDeletePast experiences shape who we are because we learn from it. A lot of us don't really learn from our failures and disappointments. Each day , we grow into the person we want to become. We have responsibilities we need to complete, we have goals we want to achieve. Past experiences are called the past for a reason. You keep it there. If you let the past follow into your future, are you really at the place you want to be at in life?
Ms.Amoruso,
If you could change anything that has happened in your teen years, what would it be and why?
Honestly, I feel like she really changed the world with her radicalism. I really love how she went off her way. She really expressed her self a lot, and I can relate to a lot what she was went through in her teen years. I find her really different from other people who are radical, just because she doesn't really follow what other people believe in, she believes in her self, and has this unique vision of femanism, in which I totally agree in.
ReplyDeleteShe just has this interesting perspective of radicalism, in which not so many people have
