The reason why Calixta had the affair was because she was extremely worried about her husband thinking he was upset with her and needed a break. Calixta loves Bobinot more than anything including Alce who will never be the love of her life forever. Bobinot and Calixta's marriage is like a very passionate one for each other. Calixta never has a consumnate love with her husband whatsoever because she will not feel the need to try to have a love relationship with Alce. Calixta definitely has a intimate relationship with her husband because as Bobinot and Bibi are battling through the terrifying storm, Calixta feels anxious to the point she starts praying for the storm to be over so herself, family, including husband can live a safe and happy life like one big family.
